sixteen

Day 16. Post a picture of you when you were young.

if i had a genie with a few wishes- i think one of them would be to go back to being little. when everything was a game, easy, just carefree. i loved being little. i loved going home on sunday after church and dumping out my bucket of barbies and getting lost in their world for hours on end. i loved the imagination that ran like crazy. i loved that if your mom called and said you had to be home in an hour- that felt like forever and you could play so much in that small time frame. i loved that i would wake up in the morning and go watch arthur before anything else. i loved that highschool kids seems so cool and going to the football games was the highlight of my week. i loved having everyone in my family living in the same house. i loved recess and thinking that you were good at everything you tried. i loved the school crushes and the days when you could put your backpack on a hook outside the classroom and know that it would be okay for the whole day. wouldnt it be amazing if nothing changed as you grew up.  there is something so spectacular about little kids- they are full of confidence and excitement about life...what happened over the years? all though we all grow up- there will still be that little kid in my heart forever.
i know a quote by walt disney that i think is very appropriate that i just love.

"Too many people grow up.  That's the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up.  They forget.  They don't remember what it's like to be 12 years old.  They patronize, they treat children as inferiors.  Well i won't do that."
-Walt Disney

(parky and i were attached at the hip.  our moms always had us geting our pictures done together- this one is hilarious in our plaid. we were best buddies- cant wait till he gets homee!!!)
(check out those buck teethies. i remember this was the best day ever- when we brought hailey home. i have so many memories with that little thing, dressing her up in my doll clothes, throwing her in the leaves(?), basically treating her like a baby not a dog. ohh the days)
